Rate Card
This rate card is valid from 1 December 2008. Our fees for the use of our facilities are designed to be affordable whilst ensuring that we can continue to provide the best open access facilities in the northeast. To use the facilities you must be a member of DMG. Check out our membership and session fees below:
Joining DMG
To use DMG’s facilities, you need to join the group. This costs just £10 a year for individuals and community organisations.
General Workshop Facility rates as of 1st April 2009
All DMG members are able to use the facilities in the main workshop free of charge. However, groups of more than three people will need to advance book the workshop*. Materials are charged at the following rates:
Macs, Epson 4870 Photo scanner & Internet Access in General Workshop FREE
DVD’s £1 each. CD’s 50p each
A – 4 colour prints including clay coated matt paper £2.50 per copy
A – 3 colour prints including clay coated matt paper £5.00 per copy
(Gloss and other specialist papers will be kept for courses but not available for general use, IT users may bring their own and pay £1.20 (A-4) £2.40 (A-3) per print to cover Ink costs)
A4 Laser prints monochrome: 10p each; colour: 75p (1 sided)
Tuition fee if required – £25 per hour
Users can bring their own paper if they wish.
*Group booking fee £20 per hour (includes main workshop area).
DMG has a set of Panasonic digital cameras, as well as a DV video camera and mini-disc sound recorder. These are available to members for community projects. Please discuss your needs with Paul.
Darkroom
General use – £5 for 2 hours (£4 concs); £12.50 full day (concs £10)
Quarterly in advance £75 (£60) – includes print processing chemicals
Tuition fee if required – £25 per hour plus normal darkroom fees
Film processing: £1 per film incl neg bag Printing : bring your own paper
Professional Facilities – Scan & Print Room – Video/Sound Edit Suite
The following rates are for funded or commercial projects. If you are working on non-funded projects, please discuss your needs with Paul.
Day hire of production equipment & edit suite:
Sony PMW-EX1 HD camera : £80
Sony HVR-A1E HD camera: £50
Fostex PD6 sound recorder: £80
Sound Kit (up to 2 mics, boom): £50
Tripod. lighting kit: £50
Location sound mixing desk, ProTools: £50
Mac Book Pro : £50
Edit Suite Final Cut Pro 6 on G5 Mac £50 dry hire per day
Print, Photoshop and Scan Room
Half day dry hire: £30
Full day dry hire: £50
Group hire negotiable
Epson 7800 A1 Printer: Charged per print, depending on print sizes. A 36″ x 24″ print typically costs about £12.
